Develop Strategies that Comply with Business/Cost Constraints...

In a business environment, resource, budget and schedule constraints profoundly affect the design of improvement strategies. Workflow applications are affected by management compromises, cost constraints, design strategies and development during the life cycle(s) of a particular product associated with the improvement project.

Policy Deployment

Policy Deployment is a powerful business planning methodology. A strong link is created between key business objectives and the day-to-day activities of your organization. Policy Deployment allows the identification of the most important actions necessary to achieve annual objectives. The technique ensures that your whole organization is aligned to achieve the key elements of the business plan.

Strategic Planning Using Hoshin Kanri

Management's top priorities is planning and ensuring that everyone is working on key business objectives. Becker Associates facilitates strategic planning sessions and are skilled at brining a management team together to determine critical issues, evaluate competitor data, organizational data, and then creating a strategic plan for taking action.

The methodology used by Becker Associates to facilitate a strategic planning session is Hoshin Kanri. Hoshin Kanri provides an elegant method for creating a comprehensive communication system between all levels of employees keeping everyone focused on meeting organizational goals. Example of a Four-Phase Hoshin Kanri plan at Becker Associates Website…

Hoshin Kanri provides a step-by-step planning, implementation, and review process for planning and managed change. It is specifically a systems approach to the management and the continuous improvement of an organization. A system is a set of coordinated processes that accomplish the core objectives of the company.

The Japanese interpretation of Deming’s thoughts and ideas was a culmination of statistical process control, detailed planning, and leadership. In 1950's Deming’s theories of PLAN, DO, STUDY, ACT became the foundation for Japan’s management control and Total Quality Management (TQM) -- Hoshin Kanri.

The literal translation of Hoshin Kanri can have several American meanings. Ho meaning method or form and shin meaning shining needle or compass. Kanri means management or control—a methodology for strategic direction setting.

Strategic planning sessions are typically three days in length. Initial session involve top management, while subsequent sessions are designed for middle management and action teams.
