The Roles of ISO 9001 and ISO 9004...
The role for the future ISO 9001 standard is to provide confidence as a result of demonstration, in product conformance to established requirements, while that for the future ISO 9004 standard is to achieve benefits for all stakeholder groups through sustained customer satisfaction.
The Year 2000 Standards
The standards are aimed to be a consistent pair of Quality Assurance and Quality Management standards. The Quality Management Principles provides a basis to help develop an understanding on the relationships between QA and QM and a means to build consistency into the pair of QA and QM standards.
It is intended that the standards will be generic in nature, and the use of following main clause titles:
1. Management Responsibility
2. Resource Management
3. Process Management
4. Measurement and Analysis
5. Improvement
